Oxenhope

This is the first O gauge layout the Bradford Model Railway Club.

We are modelling Oxenhope, which is the terminus station of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, as it was between 1945 and 1955. This will permit the running of both L.M.S. and B.R. stock.

Oxenhope consists of a single platform with run-round loop and goods facilities. As a point of interest, when the branch was built the structures and track bed were constructed to double track standards to allow an extension via a long tunnel to Hebden Bridge. Of course, presumably due to expense, this was never constructed.

For the baseboards we have used screwed and glued 12mm plywood. The layout is constructed of six baseboards measuring 4' x 3', making a total length of 24', which is the maximum that will fit in the clubroom at Sedbergh.

Peco track and points are used with slow-motion Tortoise point motors. There is a fiddle yard at one end which can hold up to six full length trains.

Stock belongs to various members and includes of Bachman, Tower; Oakville-Ancorage; Connoisseur, DJH, Kirk, Slater's, Peco, and some scratch built,
